Yes, it´s time to spread some love!
Still in February, but what a February. I cannot rember any year where it has been so warm in winter. Long sunny days gives itchy fingers, the need for seeds sowed in well-tempered soil.
So now the basil, wild garlic, tomatoes and bell pepers are sprouting in my window sill. Last year I discovered the best things for sprouting are actually polystyrene hamburger boxes. So now I collect them during the winter, its takes some time, since we ate not eating take-away every week. They are reusable 3-4 times, so I don´t need that many. They give them seed the exact right temperature for sprouting and still allow excess moisture to eveporate without drying out. The boxes are easy to stow away when not in use – another good thing.
Next thing is to repot all my chilies from last year. They´ve been left almost to hibernate during the winter, but now they deperately need a bigger pot, lots of sun and some loving care.
