In March we booked our holiday. We usually stay in Denmark, as we think it’s important for our children to get to know their own country before travelling into the big world. (We have been to The Canary Islands a few times, however).
This year we decided for Øer Maritime Ferieby near Ebeltoft.
It consists of seven small islands, connected with bridges. Totally there are 322 holiday apartments, with seven different apartment types. Some are privately owned, others are for rent. The whole area was originally created in 1987, fell into a crisis and almost went bankrupt, but has been restored and updated by a private developer the later years.
The beach is close, when the weather is bad you can go to the sports centre for a swim or play badminton or football. There’s a small shop and a restaurant also and of course an ice cream parlour at the lock.
Even though it’s high season, the quietness here is absolutely unique. Relaxation level is 10, without any doubt!
When we came Saturday the weather was perfect, later we’ve got rain, but no thunderstorm like other places in Denmark did. So we went to bed to the sound of rain…
