However – not the weather
But it doesn´t matter. The weather has turned into normal Danish spring weather. Lots of rain, temperatures between 5-8 °C. But who cares?
I´ve been doing more repotting of my indoor flowers. Mostly the cactuses. Somehow I´m good at growing cactuses. A few years back I bought some seed, everything sprouted and now I have more than plenty. they´ve all grown out of their pots during the winter, so it was time to give them more space. I guess it´s time to give some of them a new home too.
Which leads me to The Old Hospital. Finally, we all agreed on keeping the name the building has had for ages. Why rename something where the name itself contains so much history and local identity? A lot of names were discussed, The Soul, The Spiritual House, The Place of Peace and Quietness, The Crea(tivity) House, Campus Brande and a lot more. All names that (fortunately) were finally rejected. Sometimes you just need to stick to what you´ve already have. Here – the good name.
The basement has been decorated and furnished. We now need to put up some of the PC screens we´ve been donated. The internet installation was finished yesterday and will be connected today. The first users came yesterday evening. Ýouth counselling – a good initiative where our young people can talk with dedicated adults on what´s on their mind.
The ground floor is a mess. We have applied for fundings for the renovating and await the fundings to be freed. We´ll create a reception area, a meeting room and a large lounge area with a relaxed atmosphere. Here people can meet – newcomers, citizens and tourists.
First floor will be – more or less – finished this week. All small flats for those who need a place to stay, before finding a more permanent residence. We got new kitchens, new carpets and vinyl floors, new wall painting, bathrooms have been given an a make over and all flats will be fully equipped with furniture – new beds and linen, the rest is bought used.
I´m still waiting for a yes or no regarding the job interview I went to last Thursday. The last interviews took place yesterday, so my phone is by hand all the time. Oh, I just hope for that yes, we want to hire you phonecall!
Tomorrow, I´ll kick off my PRINCE2 training. The other day I got a call from my union that I was several weeks behind in applying for jobs. That is not quite correct, but I was behind logging it. The worst thing about being unemployed is the rigid system, where you are looked over your shoulder all the time.
Everything´s now taken care of and I can finally enjoy a bit of peace.
