A few days ago was cold winds from Siberia put Denmark in a frezeer. The temperatures dropped to -5°C with light snow.
The weather forecast predicted winter was here to stay. However, if there´s something you cannot trust in Denmark, it´s the weather forecasts.
Suddenly temperatures rose, the snow melted and since Saturday it has been pouring down. Winter is alway a combination of snow or rain or as now – sleet.
My hyacinths at the front door have got used to the rapid changes, one day they are deep frozen with a glass-like look. The next day its mild, they thaw and grow a bit. I planted them at Christmas and they are doing just fine. It´s absolutely stunning to see how plants can adapt to rapid changing weather conditions.
The birds have begun to make sound again. They are not yet in singing mood, but you can clearly hear they expect spring sometime in near future.
The yellowish colour on the front lawn looks really sick. We have changed the topsoil several times, given the grass loads of fertilizer, used an aerator all summer and result is still discouraging. The back yard lawn however, looks fine. The last two years of watering nematodes in August, has given excellent results. The lawn no longer suffers from the attacks of the garden chafers.
I visit my cats grave in the garden every day, to say hi and tell her that I miss her...
The soil have already begun to sink, which is of course very natural, but also quite painful to see. Last night I dreamt the cat and me cuddling in the sofa, just the two of us. That was one of our favorite things to do at the end of a day. The lovely memories of our life together are highly cherished.
Anyway, the days are already a bit longer, the darkness is not that black anymore. A year has passed since I began this blog and now the cycle starts all over again. I really love to live in a country where we have four seasons. Each season has its own charm and at the end of each season I look forward to the next.
A job would be great now. I have already finished one application this morning and will make one more today. Then I have made my target for this week and can focus on other things. I still need to take my training in Big Data and now I will have time for that.
Have a nice week wherever you are in the World!
