A predator in the house
With a new top predator in the house, there´s a lot of mess. Every day Bianca brings home a bird, a frog or a mouse. Still a kitten, however the skills of being a silent killer, are fully developed.
Her habit of bringing everything to mummy and daddy and devouring the prey in my kitchen, is disgusting. I just don’t like to clean up blood feathers, guts, legs and other body parts of small animals, less stepping in it…
I know eventually when she’s older, the blood thirst will decrease and sleeping on the sofa will be more attractive than hunting.
Mille (our beloved house cat of almost 18 years), was the same until she reached a certain age.
Meanwhile, I keep all doors closed… and bought a steam mop. 1. July she was dewormed. Unfortunately we forgot to let her out during the night. Result; the poor cat had emptied her stomach on the floor during the night. Next day I found a pile of s…, full of dead worms inside the house.
Since she´s still bringing dead animals into the house every day – almost – the chance she´s infected with parasites all the time is almost ceratain. You cannot de-worm a cat all the time, so I´ve bought a steam mop to clean the floors. We hoover every day and wash the floors twice a week, however I´m not quite certain it´s enough. Now where my nephew and niece have babies, I´m afraid that they might catch up something bad.
A steam mop is very environmentally friendly compared to using all kinds of detergents and floor soaps. I can use it on all our floors, which is also handy, normally I have to use different detergents to the tiles in hall and kitchen and others to the wooden floors in the rest of the house.
