Tuesdays can be good days too
This week I had an appointment at the job centre. Also the union attended the meeting. I was not up for the meeting – as in not at all. Anyway I had to, otherwise there are no benefits for me. Fortunately, both ladies were in a very good mood. I was well-prepared and they were too.
After a short walkthrough of my public profile on JobNet, we began discussing my cv and my general situation. I complained about my coaching sessions – in a polite but direct way. 17 weeks of coaching seems endless if you don´t feel it leads to something. To my surprise I was told that if it made no sense to me, I should not go there anymore. So no more coaching for me! It´s been a heavy weight around my neck, weighing me further and further down. If your coach and you do not communicate on the same level, coaching is completely useless.
We discussed why – with a nice, long CV and well written applications – I don´t get called in for job interviews. Finally we agreed that I need a certificate on my project managment skills. So now I´m signed up for a PRINCE2 course and hopefully afterwards I´ll be allowed to do the Scrum training too.
Sometimes Tuesdays can be good days too!
