Sunday Morning Rituals
This morning I got up early, my back was hurting. A cup of black tea and I was ready to looks for jobs. I found two which I´m applying for. This has become a ritual by now, I get up early on Sundays, make myself a ice cup of tea and enjoy the hours I have before the rest of the family gets up.
I did a bit of cleaning at the old hospital this morning. Spiders, cob webs and dead flies everywhere. The place was clean when we took over, but a warm September and October with doors and windows open made it a paradise for insects, a cool and dark place.
The cat is better at the moment. Last week we were disussing if it was time to have her put to sleep, this week she´s been wanting to go outside by herself. The litter box is full twice a day, she eats all the time and the fur is shiny and nice again. She´s still not grooming herself, so she does smell a bit. I can´t see that theres any infection in the mouth, she still has all her teeth. The weight has gone up and my best guess is that a really hard worm and parasite infestation has made her so bad. I gave her three cures in eight weeks which is also pretty hard on the body.
Still Cleaning Up
The office is now cleared of all the junk, however it´s in the hallway now instead… Anyway, even though there´s still a lot left to sort. By the end of the week it should all be gone or put into the right folders.
The Forgotten Treasures
I have tons of recipes and cookbooks. Some did I buy myself, others are inherited from my aunts and from my mother when she moved the last time. Today I found a plastic bag full of clippings from ladies magazines, recipe cards and small booklets. I thought it was more stuff from my family, but it turned out it was all from my late mother in law and her mother. Looking into it, it was a real little treasure. I will offer it all to my nieces when we meet next week, I have plenty from my own family. After all, it´s their gran and great grans best recipes. My boys didn´t get to know their great gran, she died when they were very small and gran wasn´t able to cook much in her last years. So I´ll pass it on to those who knew them and who will cherish the recipes gathered through a whole life…
