Last night sitting on the sofa watching the Danish version of “Alone”, (you know; the survival in the wilderness show) with my youngest and the cat, a huuuge house spider crawled out from under the sofa. Yikes, I´m not very fond of spiders, but normally I pick them up in a glass and throw the little buggers out. This fellow however, was at least 7cm, and looked really, really mean.
The cat was sleeping, so help there. So I decided to use the good old vacuum cleaner trick. I know, I killed the poor bugger, but have you even been bitten by one? It hurts and itches for days – so no thank you!
After that incident, I got thinking if vegans kill spiders and flies? Beeing a carnivore myself, and not knowing any vegans, I referred to Google to find an answer. And yes, according to e.g. Reddit many vegans do kill spiders, flies and mosquitos because they are afraid of insects and afraid of contracting a disease being bitten or stung by them.
I found an answer to my question and have no intention going into in any discission on animal welfare, double standards and more. Let´s respect each others lifestyles. I´m just happy I wasn´t bitten!
No photo today – you can´t take photos when the adrenaline is running high!
